
A landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on March 14 at the Lebanese Embassy in France between the Stouh Beirut Association, Les Toits de Beyrouth, and Maisons des Femmes Restart, to officially launch the “Femmes du Soleil” project, a long-term initiative aimed at empowering women in Lebanon, particularly single mothers.
The event was opened by Chargé d’Affaires Ziad Taan, who praised the initiative and the power of cross-border collaboration in addressing Lebanon’s ongoing social challenges.
Dalia Dagher, journalist and President and Founder of Stouh Beirut, announced that the new center in Dhour Choueir will offer vocational training, psychological support, and economic empowerment programs. The center is expected to serve approximately 30 women per year through its training programs and aid more than 150 beneficiaries monthly.
Dr. Ghada Hatem-Gantzer, Founder of Maisons des Femmes Restart, stressed the importance of combining local implementation with international expertise to ensure sustainable impact.
Claudine Haddad Gontier, Secretary General of Les Toits de Beyrouth, and Father Ziad Haddad, Vice President of the association, both emphasized the project’s commitment to supporting vulnerable women and rebuilding lives with dignity and hope.
