Beirut – The tenth edition of the Stouh Beirut Telethon, organized by the Stouh Beirut Association and hosted by journalist Dalia Dagher, once again succeeded in spreading hope and generosity during the holiday season. Over nine hours of live broadcast on OTV, Lebanon TV, Facebook, and multiple online platforms, the telethon raised $425,000 to support eleven critical humanitarian cases, including Shiman, Michael, Maryam, Adele, Hoda, Haya, Joe, Charbel, Maria, Christine, and Zeinab.
Dagher emphasized the importance of collective giving, noting that “fundraising is not for a project, it is about saving lives.” Despite Lebanon’s ongoing three-year economic and financial crisis, donors contributed from across the country and abroad, from the Gulf, the Americas, France, Europe, Africa, and Australia, showing that distance was no barrier to kindness. Children broke their piggy banks to give, while the Lebanese diaspora played a crucial role in achieving the final total.
The telethon, themed “Love and Giving Will Unite Us #ForAllOfUsToCelebrate,” highlighted the spirit of solidarity, as even the smallest contributions, the “widow’s mite”, made a real difference. The event featured hundreds of calls and donations, proving once more that humanitarian values remained strong in Lebanon.
Prominent figures from politics, media, business, and the arts supported the telethon, including ministers, parliamentarians, journalists, social activists, and celebrities. Notable participants included Ziad Makari, Walid Nassar, Eli Ghanem, Ghassan Hajar, Ghassan Aoun, Bruno Tabal, Silvio Shehha, Martin Najem, Ghina Ghandour, and many others.
The event also hosted live musical performances and tributes, reinforcing the festive and hopeful atmosphere of the holiday season.
As the curtain fell on the tenth Telethon, Stouh Beirut extended its gratitude to all donors, supporters, and team members, expressing hope that the coming year would bring even greater opportunities to spread love, hope, and generosity to families in need across Lebanon.
