Stouh Beirut Achieves Its Goal for “Dar Al-Saada” in Zahle and Hands Over Donations

Zahle – July 11, 2023Stouh Beirut Association successfully reached its fundraising target for “Dar Al-Saada for the Elderly”, ensuring the continuity of services for over 100 residents. The initiative, broadcast on June 11, 2023, from the Zahle Diocese of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church, featured a special telethon to support the nuns of the Missionary Sisters of the Redeemer in Ksara-Zahle.

The association’s founder and president, Dalia Dagher, launched the campaign urging donors to stand with the home to maintain the dignity and care of its elderly residents, providing logistical, medical, therapeutic, and food support for a full year.

On July 11, 2023, Dagher, accompanied by other team members, visited Zahle to personally deliver the collected donations to Mother Thérèse Roukoz, head of the Missionary Sisters of the Redeemer in Ksara, and Sister Najwa Mehanna, director of the home.

Dagher thanked all donors whose contributions safeguarded the home against closure, highlighting that this marked the first time the association held two telethons in one year, and emphasizing that the campaign’s success reflects the public’s love for elderly care. She also encouraged people to continue supporting and visiting the home, spreading hope and love among its residents.

In response, Mother Roukoz expressed gratitude to Stouh Beirut, Dalia Dagher, and her team for their generous initiative, noting that the telethon’s success provides vital support for the elderly. She expressed her hope that Lebanon will one day ensure comprehensive care for seniors, providing comfort to them, their families, and supporting associations. Mother Roukoz also wished Stouh Beirut continued success in its many humanitarian efforts that create positive change in Lebanese society and support families and individuals most in need.
