The fourth edition of the Stouh Beirut Telethon, hosted by Dalia Dagher, focused on raising funds for eight urgent humanitarian cases. The studio welcomed guests from politics, media, and business who joined efforts to support the initiative.
The cases included:
Dalia Dagher welcomed prominent figures who collaborated to raise the required $400,000, including General Shamel Roukoz and Claudine Aoun Roukoz, MP Dr. Ahmad Fatfat, Ms. Enas Abu Ayash, Na’mat Efram, Mohammad Baydoun, former MP Hussein Yatim, Rabih Al-Sheikh, Nicola Mousalli, politician David Issa, MPs Antoine Zahra and Ziad Aswad, Vera Yamin, Rania Moqaddam, Professor Philippe Salem, Dr. Antoine Maalouf, Joe Rahal, Minister Ghassan Hasbani, MP Simon Abi Ramia, Eddie Abi El-Laem, journalist Gizelle Khoury, Elias Hankash, and Fathers Magdy Allawi and Hani Tawk. Artist Michel Qazzi added a festive Christmas atmosphere to the episode.
Viewers from Lebanon and abroad actively participated, contributing donations to support the cases. During the broadcast, a caller from Sweden, identifying himself as Abdel Baset Odeh, claimed he would donate $1 million. Although the production team attempted to follow up during and after the episode, contact was lost, and further investigation revealed that the caller had a history of making false claims to similar programs. The team considered possible legal actions.
Thanks to the generosity of donors and the collaboration of the guests, the telethon successfully secured the needed funds, which were collected and distributed to the eight families under the campaign slogan “For All of Us to Celebrate.”
Prior to the telethon, a month-long campaign was held with the support of artists, politicians, and businesspeople, including the launch of a special song titled “Hand in Hand” (Eid Be Eid), written by poet Nizar Francis and composed and sung by artist Nader Khoury, which accompanied the preparations.
Dalia Dagher and the Stouh Beirut team extended their sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the 2016 telethon, wishing health, prosperity, and peace for Lebanon. Through their efforts, “we all celebrated together,” Dagher said, adding, “Here’s to many more years of giving.”
